As both a Navy wife and photographer homecomings hold a special place in my heart. I know how it feels to stand on the pier as the ship pulls and returns, I understand how the first hug feels and I know how precious homecoming photos can be. 

With Covid19 many things are different but much is still the same. We might not be able to stand on the pier as the ship returns but that doesn’t change the feeling of having your loved one back in your arms. 

This past weekend’s homecoming was particularly special because not only was this family reunited but I was also reunited with my husband. I stood with this family as the ship pulled away and returned four months later. We went threw the ups, downs, curveballs and delays of deployment together.
